This song has a lot of imagery in it. I don’t remember us recording it, really. A vague memory of Steve at the drums, perhaps, but that’s about it. Really like the way it’s turned out. The first verse packs a lot in – I would imagine the more-than-casual music fan would pick up on the references therein and the title is inspired by the Beatles song. I should point out, however, that I don’t have a sponsorship deal with a transport company (not yet anyway). The ‘virgin’ train refers to the first train of this character’s journey into the unknown, ie. he is a ‘train virgin’.

Had a quick listen on Sunday night to our recordings from January and can see the work stretching ahead, but positive. They sound good, even on the tiny, tinny speakers I listened to them on!
We were recording last week really to attempt to get the drums down on four tracks. To his credit, despite fatigue and pain and not enough chocolate, Steve did an exemplary job during the day and in the evening. I’m getting the tracks on Wednesday so I’ll be able to hear how they are then.
Here’s the man, looking like he possibly felt:
Great rehearsal yesterday. Tried 2 new songs and they both instantly sounded rather classic!
As you can see though, Steve just drums TOO loudly so we had to cage him in like Hannibal Lecter. Also, he tries to eat people’s livers with fava beans every now and then so its probably just as well he couldn’t get at us. Didn’t stop him chucking bottles at me from behind the screen though!! My reactions are so slow it took a few seconds before I jumped!
