Time and relative dimensions

Never time to do the thousand things I have on my list but I’ve realised the drums we recorded for Nowhere Girls are no good so have to redo or rethink, but the version of Umbrella Head I’m working on currently is sounding very promising indeed. Hope to have it to play for you very soon!

Fleetwood

More drum caressing tonight, and watched a programme about Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours. Christine McVie said she writes lyrics first – hey, Christine, me too!

Music and all the things in between

More music yesterday, but not a lot as I had been making merry on Saturday night which took my energy levels right down and lots of backing up to do. That’s good in a way though because I just added some shape to the Nowhere Girls drums and then left it and it felt like I had space to think after and not like I was trying to cram a million things in to a 3 hour slot. Maybe it’s the way forward!

Groovy new photos Saturday morning (and lots of fun) with semi-regular Coosticks photographer Wendy. Will put them up on the site soon.

The Sound Of Drums

Had a quick listen on Sunday night to our recordings from January and can see the work stretching ahead, but positive. They sound good, even on the tiny, tinny speakers I listened to them on!

Rehearsal

Great rehearsal yesterday. Tried 2 new songs and they both instantly sounded rather classic!
As you can see though, Steve just drums TOO loudly so we had to cage him in like Hannibal Lecter. Also, he tries to eat people’s livers with fava beans every now and then so its probably just as well he couldn’t get at us. Didn’t stop him chucking bottles at me from behind the screen though!! My reactions are so slow it took a few seconds before I jumped!

don't let the drummer out!!
